Based in Frome, Somerset, I specialize in creating beautiful hand bound notebooks that are revitalized fragments of our social history. I collect and reuse antique and vintage books, maps, sewing patterns and ephemera that although exhausted still holds the potential for a renewed and beautiful life.

The techniques I use are traditional to this ancient craft, including hand tools and manual machines. Original material is discovered, mainly, within the local area, with new materials being from sustainable sources.

I trained as a graphic designer and illustrator and have collected books all my life. A passion for books, their art and history, led me to bring my skills together to produce my unique bindings. The mission is to give new life to as many exhausted books as possible!

Through my work I use nostalgia, history and interests to reconnect people with memories and significant times in their lives. This might be a poem an image or a particular title. Books contain their authors stories along with clues to their readers stories too. I use these clues in my bindings, retaining the moments left within inscriptions, dates, notes and marks. A tea cup ring, an ink spot, family recipe or postcard can tell an inspiring story of its own, bringing the past alive at our fingertips.

Just like people no two of my notebooks are the same. Each is an individual, full of fun and packed with personality!

t's a wonderful life!

“I love this Charlie's Angels notebook. Lovely quality and size and I enjoyed mentally filling in the remainder of the half-finished crossword puzzle that Suzanne had included inside. It's a perfect gift for my childhood friend and angel.”

"My book was well finished, and presented in a very professional manner. It was a gift for a person who had sailed all his life. However can no longer do so. This book of boats of the world bought back lovely memories. Thank you."
